Some observations about CFB:
1. David Shaw knows how to win - Shaw led the Stanford Cardinal to an overtime Win over #20 Oregon 38-31. Oregon led the whole game but couldn't put The Cardinal away Why? Meaningful Stats - Stanford had a +3 Turnover margin & crawled back into an impressive victory.
2. Kentucky is for real. Mark Stoops defense shut down Joe Morehead's offense - holding the Miss St. Bulldogs to under 300 yards & only 7 points. UK turned Benny Snell loose to lead a ground & pound attack that controlled the clock & scored 28 points in the process. MSU was one on the offense leaders in the country BUT AVERAGES ARE MEANINGLESS. How many yards the Dogs had vs Stephen F. Austin didn't mean anything vs UK - reult Kentucky 28 - MSU - 7!
3. Army is back. Jeff Monken may have lost an overtime game to the OU Sooners but he won a hell of a lot of hearts. Monken has returned the Black Knights to the Glory Days of Jim Young, Bob Sutton & their OC Greg Gregory using the same type of fundamental balll control clock killing offense that Army used with Young & Sutton. OU was 31 point favorites & had to pull the game out in OT. Army had the ball for 41 minutes!
This is what I posted on Thursday before the game http://www.tonydemeo.com/forum/viewtopi ... =24&t=4118
4, ODU 49 - Va.Tech 35 - How did this happen? How does ODU pass for 495 yards vs a great DC, Bud Foster? I did not see any of this game but if someone can tell me - please do.
